NEXT PERSON (Nextperson.org) is a community kindness and encouragement initiative. In this policy, "we" and "us" refer to the people who run NEXT PERSON.

Information you choose to send us

We only collect personal information when you choose to submit one of the two forms on this website.

Contact form. When you send us a message, we receive:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your message

Kindness story form. When you share a story, we receive:

• Your name
• Your email address
• The type of story you selected (kindness you received, gave, or witnessed)
• Your story
• Whether you checked the box giving us permission to share your story

Please don't include sensitive personal details about yourself or others, such as health information or full names of people in your story, unless you're comfortable with us receiving them.

How we use this information

• To read and respond to your message, using the email address you provide.
• To read the kindness stories you share and consider them for Community Voices.
• To follow up with you about your story if we have a question.

Publishing kindness stories

Sharing a story doesn't automatically publish it. We only consider publishing your story on Nextperson.org if you check the box that says "You may share my story (first name only) on Nextperson.org."

If you give permission and we feature your story, we display it with your first name only. We don't publish your email address or last name. If you don't check the box, we keep your story private.

If you'd like a featured story removed or changed, contact us using the contact form.

Website hosting and form processing

This website is hosted by Netlify. Form submissions are received and stored using Netlify's form handling service, and we access them through our Netlify account. As part of this service, Netlify screens submissions for spam. That screening may use technical details sent with your submission, such as your IP address and browser information.

Like most web hosts, Netlify may automatically process technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, in order to deliver and secure the website. To learn more, see Netlify's privacy policy.

Cookies, analytics, and third parties

This website doesn't use analytics, advertising trackers, or social media embeds, and it doesn't set its own cookies. Our fonts and images are served from this website, not from outside services.

The information you submit is handled by the service provider described above as needed to run this website and its forms.

Both forms are optional. If you have a question or request about information you've sent us, including a published story, you can reach us through the contact form.

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
